BRIGHTON’S PIERCE COMMITS TO FURMAN U.
212 Lacrosse player Grant Pierce is looking forward to playing for the Division-I Paladins.
PARK CITY, Utah (Nov. 18, 2013) — Grant Pierce, senior attackman for Brighton High School, and a 212 Lacrosse product, has committed to play for the NCAA Division-I Furman University Paladins in South Carolina next fall.
Pierce, who has trained for 212 Lacrosse for 2 years, has also played on the elite West Coast Starz, Brady’s Bunch and 3D-Select Colorado.
He is the third 212 Lacrosse player in a week to commit to a major college lacrosse program. Last Wednesday, junior attackman Carson Dutkanych signed a national letter of intent to receive a scholarship from the Division-I University of Albany; and earlier in the week senior attackman Christian Pompoco committed to Division-II Dominican University of California.
“We are very, very proud and happy for Grant. He’s worked hard to get here, and we know he’s going to do great things at Furman University,” 212 director and coach Mike Acee said. “He’s yet another 212 player who’s setting an example for his teammates and the younger athletes in our program, and all of us here can’t wait to follow his success on the field and off at Furman and beyond.”
Pierce offered high praise for Acee and the 212 Lacrosse program.
“The very first person, the man who changed the course of my life, is Mike Acee,” Pierce told Utah Lacrosse News. “Coach Acee has been my private coach for the past three years and not only did he change every part of my game, but he really believed in me and never wavered. Coach Acee has made a huge difference in my life both on the field and off and not only is he my coach, he is my friend.”
