212 Lacrosse of Park City, Utah participated in their hometown tournament June 12-14.
The 212 U15 Boys were led by Court Durling (UVA) and Mike Acee (UNC). The team cruised to a 6 win 0 loss record, including wins over the second and third place teams, Utah Elite and Parker Men’s Club. They finished with 76 goals for and 17 goals against. Overall, this team has a 33 win 2 loss record in 5 tournament appearances. The boys’ next stop will be Denver, at the World Championships Festival July 13-15.
212 U13 Boys had a successful weekend finishing with 7 wins and 3 losses often playing up 1, and sometimes 2 years against their competition. The 212 U11 team also played up 1 and 2 years, holding their own in all but one game. The future looks bright for this young talented group.
“212 continues to play for two former teammates of mine at North Carolina, Neill Redfern (battling cancer) and Eric Seremet (recently widowed). Our kids break every huddle with “S14”. The acronym stands for Eric’s last name and Neill’s number at Carolina. The message for the kids to play for someone other than themselves is unifying and they all continue to play very hard for Eric and Neill. I’m extremely proud of all the 212 kids. As always, a big thank you to the entire 212 Lacrosse community. The support the parents show myself and our staff continues to be tremendous. I’d also like to thank all of our coaches; Brian Bilzi (D1- Manhattan College), Court Durling (D1- Virginia), Chantz Hower, Christian Pompoco, Alec Meyer, Michael Burbank, Craig Cordial, Bryan Davis, Pete Iacobelli, and Adam Procino. We’d also like to thank Hall of Fame coach Fred Acee for coming to Utah the week before the tournament to coach all of our teams. Also, thank you to the Utah Lacrosse Association for putting on a great event.”

PARK CITY’S DUTKANYCH TO COMMIT TO THE UNIVERSITY OF ALBANY TODAY
Carson Dutkanych will be the first-ever Park City lacrosse player to join a top tier Division-I team. PARK CITY, Utah (Nov. 13, 2013) — Carson Dutkanych will soon make Park City history. The star junior attackman is scheduled to sign a national letter of intent to receive a scholarship from the University of Albany in Upstate New York on Wednesday, setting the stage for him to become the first Park City lacrosse player ever to join a top tier NCAA Division-I team. The signing is set to take place at 2:30 p.m. in the Park City High School lecture hall. “Carson’s worked intensely hard for this in games, in practice and in classes, and boy, has he earned it,” said 212 Lacrosse director and coach Mike Acee, who has coached Dutkanych since the athlete was in the fifth grade. “It opens up a lot of doors for him. He’s been dreaming of playing Division I lacrosse on a big stage since I’ve known him. “We’re very happy and proud for him to be joining the University of Albany. It’s yet another example that he’s setting for the rest of the athletes in our program.” Dutkanych, 17, expressed excitement for his next step. “It’s a really special feeling doing something that not too many kids have done before,” Dutkanych said. “I’m excited that I stuck with it.” And while he was lukewarm to Albany’s infamously gray weather, he felt strong affinity for the university’s lacrosse team. “When I first went there, I didn’t necessarily like the city or the climate,” Dutkanych said. “But I liked the coaches and the way the team felt like a family.” Dutkanych said he is determined to start as a freshman with the Great Danes. But until then, he still has a year left with Park City High School — and plenty of goals left to accomplish. “I want to lead the state in points and be an All-American,” he said. 212 Lacrosse is based in Park City, Utah, and was founded in 2010. 212 is led by Acee, a former All-American, four-time ACC Champion and NCAA National Champion with the University of North Carolina Tar Heels, who has amassed more than 30 years of playing and coaching experience and, at 212 Lacrosse, assembled a roster of high-caliber coaches and players. The program emphasizes commitment and success for all its players, and provides one-on-one mentoring for team members.
