Congratulations to 212 Select Goalie Mac Molloy on his commitment to play division 1 lacrosse at the University of Delaware!
212 Select Strong in Vegas
The 212 Select 2017 team proved strong once again in Vegas December 7-8. Playing up in the Elite division, the 2017’s took down RC of San Diego and Seattle Starz on their way to a 4-1 record. The kids came up short in the playoffs after running into a very good goalie from the Seattle Starz. Their goalie, a Denver commit, recorded at least 20 saves, including 4 point blank stops. Our respect and congratulations go out to the Seattle goalie and their entire team as they went on to win the championship title.
Next up for this talented group is Sandstorm and Vail in 2015. See you there!
212 Qualified Tournament Team Players
Over the past 15 years, 212 has consistently distinguished itself by providing substantial and inclusive training sessions.
At 212, inclusivity is paramount, welcoming players of all backgrounds and skill levels to partake in our comprehensive training programs. The cornerstone of our success lies in the dedicated and proficient staff at every session, ensuring each participant receives the support needed to thrive.
Our training sessions are more than just instructional periods; they serve as a canvas for aspiring boys and girls to create their success stories. While we provide the framework, each player is encouraged to invest personal time and effort to “paint the canvas” of their lacrosse journey. This approach underscores the principle that individual commitment and diligence significantly enhance skill.
As time unfolds, the disparities in ability become apparent, distinguishing those actively working to refine their skills from those who may not be as committed. This differentiation is a testament to the effectiveness of our training philosophy and the progress made by dedicated players over the years.
Qualified players at 212 can showcase their skills in tournaments, a testament to our commitment to recognizing and nurturing talent. To aid players in reaching this level, we’ve outlined key attributes that should be cultivated:
STICKWORK: A skill with no finish line, stickwork demands continual improvement. As a player, focus on honing your abilities to:
Pass quickly and accurately overhand, sidearm, and underhand with both hands.
Pass swiftly and accurately without cradling.
Execute precise passes behind the back or via a shovel pass.
Master the above skills at 10, 15, and 20 yards.
Perform the listed skills at full speed.
Execute the listed skills while being checked by a defender.
INTANGIBLES: Beyond technical skills, we value intangible qualities that contribute to team success:
Coachability
A “no excuse” attitude
A team-first perspective
100% effort in all facets of the game

212 LACROSSE PLAYER ALEC MEYER COMMITS TO THE US AIR FORCE ACADEMY
PARK CITY, Utah (December 10, 2014) — Alec Meyer, junior attackman for Juan Diego High School and 212 Select, has committed to play for the NCAA Division-I United States Air Force Academy.
Meyer had a tremendous sophomore year as Utah’s second leading scorer, until a hip strain caused him to miss the last portion of the season. We sat down with Meyer for a little question and answer recently.
Why did you choose this school?
I chose the Air Force Academy because it is one of the best schools in the country with an outstanding academic reputation, and an extremely talented lacrosse team at the Division 1 level with superb athletic facilities. The Air Force Academy will provide me with the opportunity of a lifetime.
What are your thoughts on this past HS lacrosse season/team’s outlook for next season?
This past season was a struggle, being injured for the last half of the season was very difficult for me but not being able to play has changed my view on the game of lacrosse. I never take any shift for granted, I treat every game and practice as if its my last. I am very excited for the contributions that I can make to the Juan Diego Lacrosse Program. I am working to become complete player, not one dimensional, a player that can do everything. I am hoping to help lead my team to a state championship this year.
Who would you like to thank?
I would like to thank Coach Wilson and Coach Serment on this once in a life time opportunity to play lacrosse and go to school at one of the best schools in the country. I would like to thank my coach, mentor and friend Mike Acee for without him none of this would be possible, Mike took my game to the next level, without him I would not be the player I am today. Lastly I would like to thank my family, in particular my Mother and Father for supporting me, getting me to every game, practice, camp and tournament and for pushing me to be the best I could possibly be.
We recently caught up with 212 Founder Mike Acee: “Alec has showed a consistent focus to improve on and off the field. He’s a winner. We are thrilled for the entire Meyer family.”
This marks the 18th 212 Lacrosse player to commit to a division 1 program in the last 3 years.
